King Mswati appoints Stuky Motsa,a person with albinism as a Senator,Spokesperson says decision meant to ensure equality in society.

MBABANE:King Mswati has appointed Stuky Motsa,a person with albinism as a Senator.

Motsa was working as the Principal Health Administrator National Laboratory Services in the Ministry of Health, she is the Director of Stuky Foundation, an organization that is advocating for the rights of persons with albinism in eSwatini.

Reached for comments,Motsa said, she was shocked as the appointment came as a surprise to her,she then sang praises to the King.

“There’s nothing I can say Nkhosi, I’m still shocked.I can only say Bayethe”, said the newly appointed Senator.

Responding to this Swaziland News on Sunday evening,Percy Simelane, the King’s Spokesperson described the appointment of the person with albinism as an honorable undertaking and a great deal of humanism.

“It is indeed an honourable  undertaking projecting a great deal of humanism and intent to make  everyone level of society feel represented in decisions making positions.He does that from time to time.He once appointed a Senator who was totally blind who however did very well and finished his term,” said the King’s Spokesperson.

The King further appointed Lindiwe-Gwebu Dlamini,Prince Lonkhokhela, Princess Ncengencenge, Princess Temaswati,Prince Ngangabani,

Princess Ntfombiyenkhosi, Inkhosikati Gelane Dlamini (LaMavimbela)Prince Mphatfwa

and Prince Gcokoma as Senators. The appointments were announced by Attorney General(AG) Sifiso MafeleNkhosini Khumalo on Sunday afternoon.

Others who were appointed include Cethuka Sigombeni Dlamini,Chief Jozane Maziya, Chief Zabeni,Chief Ndlaluhlaza,Chief Ngome Ndlangamandla,Chief Mvimbi Matse, Pholile Dlamini-Shakantu, Neal Rijkenberg and Isaac Mmemo Magagula.
