MBABANE:Sicelo Mngomezulu,the Chairperson of the Multi Stakeholders Forum(MSF), has been elected into the Leadership Council of the World Liberty Congress(WLC).

This was during the General Assembly currently taking place in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania.

The Leadership Council is the highest decision-making organ of the WLC particularly, when the General Assembly “is not in session”.

The core principles of the World Liberty Congress include;Human Rights, adherence to rule of law, free and fair elections and democracy.

Among the delegates and participants from eSwatini at the WLC meeting is Sicelo Mngomezulu the MSF Chairperson, Political Parties Assembly(PPA) Chairperson Mlungisi Makhanya, Foundation  For Socio-economic Justice (FSEJ) Program Manager and Lawyer Mzwandile Masuku, People\'s United  Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) Deputy Secretary General(DSG) Maxwell Dlamini, WLC Guest of Honour and wife to the assassinated former MSF Chairperson Tanele Maseko and WLC Special Guest and brother to one of the incarcerated Members of Parliament(MPs) Bheki Mabuza.

Speaking to this Swaziland News shortly after Mngomezulu's elections,Mlungisi Makhanya, the PPA Chairperson said, they were elated yet humbled by the election of the MSF Chairperson.

“These are fruits of the hard work that the former MSF Chairperson Thulani Rudolf Maseko had done, and an appreciation by fellow global human rights activists of the commitment  Mngomezulu has shown in his brief period in office. We are elated yet humble by the election of the MSF Chairperson," said the PPA Chairperson.

On another note, Makhanya further said, this is a part of broader strategy, that of consolidating and institutionalizing networks of the MSF to ensure that they optimally benefit the Swazi struggle.

“This is part of a broader strategy, that of consolidating and institutionalizing networks of the MSF to ensure that they optimally benefit the Swazi struggle.The coming months will be characterized by acceleration of the pillar of International mobilization for the total isolation of Mswati's autocratic regime. All corners of the globe will be visited and networks established, revived or strengthened. The Chairperson appears very committed to this work and he can count on the support of the PPA," said the Political Parties Assembly Chairperson.
