LOZITHA: Marwick Khumalo,the Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament(MP) told King Mswati to consider commissioning a political dialogue known as “Vusela” within the communities as part of political engagements with regards to the issues affecting the country.
Addressing the King at Lozitha Palace on Wednesday, the long serving MP said, the current Tinkhundla system “has been gradually reformed” through previous engagements with the people and fortunately, the King listened and implemented the reforms.
“Previously, MPs were not elected directly by the people but through Vusela, the King listened to the request of the people and we ended-up electing under the current electoral process and we also introduced direct election of Indvuna YeNkhundla and Bucopho.Your Majesty, you mentioned during Sibaya that these engagements must not end at Ludzidzini inside Sibaya but even in communities we must discuss these issues, let’s engage”, said the Lobamba Lomdzala MP.
The long serving MP further called for collaboration between the Executive and Parliament for sustainable economic development.He said, projects such as the Oil Reserve came after such collaborations with a common interest to develop the country.
