MBABANE:Mduduzi Matsebula, the newly appointed Minister of Health says,he is not related to Zinhle Matsebula, the businesswoman who stands accused of looting public funds resulting to the shortage of drugs in public hospitals.
Responding to this Swaziland News on Sunday afternoon, the Minister who pledged to work towards addressing the health crisis denied that, he was related to the businesswoman.
“No,we are not related”, he said.
The new Health Minister was vocal in Parliament demanding accountability since the health crisis erupted, he even touched on the matter during Sibaya, resulting to His Majesty King Mswati entrusting him as the political head of the Ministry of Health.
Pictures emerged where the Minister was seen with the businesswoman during the elections and there were allegations suggesting that, Zinhle Matsebula funded his campaign.
But businesswoman Zinhle Matsebula when asked to clarify the matter, said the Minister was not related to her adding that, she was just impressed with his submissions in Parliament.
“Good afternoon.I do not think that it’s fair to write a piece of information that you have not verified and untrue.The damage you have caused in my life is enough and I wouldn’t want to see anyone going through to what I have been through.To set the record straight, myself and the Minister are not biological siblings and we are not related. It so happen that we share a surname and I know him. I have never paid any cent for his compaign and he has never in his life even when he was an MP ever asked me to support his initiatives. I have personally liked his motions in the last parliament and definitely wanted him to be back in this parliament. I have accepted you dragging my name and call me a thief but please do not drag other souls in this mess,” said the Lifespan Director.
