MBABANE:Ben J Simelane, the lawyer representing convicted pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube has confirmed the postponement of the politically motivated criminal case to February 2024, the MPs are expected to mitigate before Judge Mumcy Dlamini sentencing.
Speaking to this Swaziland News after the postponement, the lawyer said, the matter was postponed to the twenty(20th), twenty-one(21) and twenty-two(22nd) February 2024.
“ On 6th March we will file heads of argument and arguments will be heard on thirteen(13th)March,” said the lawyer representing the former MPs.
On another note,Wandile Dludlu,the Deputy President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) described the criminal case of the MPs as “licala lemanga”, he said despite the persecution, the MPs demonstrated bravery throughout the trial.
Kumele sikhumbule kutsi leli licala lemanga, but we thank the MPs for remaining strong despite the challenges,” said the PUDEMO Deputy President when speaking to this publication outside the High Court-Mbabane on Wednesday.
