MANZINI: Thulisile Dladla, the Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) visited households affected the recent hailstorm in the Manzini and Shiselweni Regions, Government online platforms reported on Saturday.
It has been reported that, Government provided assistance to sixty(60)households that were affected by the hailstorm.The assistance comes after the government through the Office of the DPM, the National Disaster Management Agency(NDMA) and Baphalali Eswatini Red Society conducted a preliminary assessment that disclosed that, over four thousand five hundred(4 500)emaSwati have been directly affected by the storm and include six hundred and thirty eight(638) households,and nineteen(19) schools.
“About 4 500 emaSwati have been directly affected by the storm,comprising 638 households,19 schools and several health facilities,businesses and critical infrastructure.The following Tinkhundla were the most affected: Mafutseni, Mtfongwaneni,Khubuta,Nkwene,Sandleni and Hosea”,reads the Government report.
