MBABANE:Cebile Dlamini,the Secretary General of the Swaziland Women Assembly(SRWA)says thenTaiwan-funded women capacity building project, previously known as the Capacity Building Project for Microfinance Focusing on Grassroots Women in Eswatini is being implemented in isolation and a result,it hasn’t improved the lives of women in the rural areas.
Responding to this Swaziland News after Commerce Minister Mancoba Khumalo and Taiwanese Ambassador Jeremy Liang announced the commencement of Phase(II) of the project, the Rural Women Assembly Secretary General said, they noted the second Phase but clarified that, as an organization for rural women, they were not aware of the first phase achievements.
“Even before we talk about Phase two(2),we must know that Phase one(1) achieved.Otherwise,we welcome projects that will develop and improve the lives of women”, said the Secretary General of the Swaziland Rural Women Assembly(SRWA).
On another, Government online platforms reported on Monday that,Commerce Minister Mancoba Khumalo launched the second Phase of the project.
“The Kingdom of Eswatini is looking forward to more rural women joining the MSME sector, which plays a vital role in the development and improvement of the economy and is believed to have great potential for growth”,said the Commerce Minister.
It has been reported that during the event,Taiwan donated desktop computers,laptops,printers,digital projects,air conditioners and software to the Eswatini Cooperative Development College(ECODEC).
