MBABANE:An Economist says Tinkhundla Minister Sikhumbuzo Dlamini’s sentiments where he alleged that, the Tinkhundla system of Governance is being neglected such that, offices are being rented in the rural areas lacks the basic understanding of economic development and government duty to empower the Small and Medium Enterprise(SME)sector.

Speaking to this Swaziland News this week, the Economist who preferred to remain anonymous as he hold an influential position said, Government has a duty to empower citizens.

“When Government rents offices for Tinkhundla in the rural areas, that is not neglecting the system but promoting it because the citizens who own the structures or offices will get money from Government and the money will circulate from Government to the people. If the Minister is suggesting that,Government must build offices for Tinkhundla to save costs, what about the people who owns structures in the rural areas?.Government is not a profit making organization, the State collects money from the people through tax and the money must circulate back to the people to enhance economic growth,” said the Economist who contacted this publication after reading about the Tinkhundla Minister’s sentiments from the media.
