Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF)remembers Deputy Secretary General who was allegedly assassinated by Mswati’s State agents for demanding democracy.

MBABANE:Busie Mayisela,the President of the Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF) has released a statement remembering the assassination of Muzi Mmema, the organization’s first Deputy Secretary General who was allegedly killed by King Mswati’s mercenaries.

“The Leadership and members of SFDF are saddened by this day as it marks a year as since the assassination of Comrade Muzi Mmema, our first Deputy Secretary General. Cde Mmema dedicated his life to fighting for the ideals of freedom, justice and equality.His death is a tragedy that will forever be engraved in our hearts and minds.Comrade Muzi played a crucial role in challenging the oppressive regime”, reads the statement in part released on Wednesday.

The Swazis First President said, Mmema advocated for human rights and a better society for all in the most humble way that was not provocative at all, as such, the SFDF fails to fathom the inhumane act of assassinating an individual of his calibre. She said as a results, Muzi’s Mmema’s courage and determination will continue to inspire all democracy loving Swazis to stand up against injustice and work towards more inclusive and equitable Swaziland.

”The SFDF notes that the assassination of Cde Muzi was not only an attack to him and SFDF,but also an attempt to suppress the ideals he represented. In light of this tragic event that subjected his wife,children,family, and the Mass Democratic Movement to endless pain, it is essential that we reaffirm our commitment to the principles Cde Muzi stood for.We must continue to amplify the voices of those who advocate for human rights, justice and equality.The memory of Cde Muzi must serve as a catalyst for change,motivating us to redouble our efforts in pursuit of the Swaziland where all individual scan live in dignity and freedom.His life should be not in vain, but rather a reminder of the on going struggles of our people.May the legacy of our Cde Muzi serve as an inspiration for future generations and may his spirit continue to guide us in our collective fight for a Democratic Swaziland”, reads the statement in part.
