On Sunday, Health Minister Lizzie Nkosi announced one new COVID-19 death, 94 cases taking the total number of cases to 3839 with 70 deaths.
The ever-smiling police officer was popular during cultural events, her death shocked many police officers who felt they were not receiving proper health-care from their employer despite that their work expose them to the COVID-19.
“We are not receiving proper treatment, once you are exposed to the virus, they come and test you without any isolation. Thereafter, the health officials disappear and come back to attend to you once you are sick. This is what happened to Ngabisa, she tested few days ago never isolated only for them to come and transport her to Lubombo on Friday, at the that time, she was already sick. As police officers, we have a Death Benefit Fund, at least they should be taking care of us and give us proper health care with our money” said a junior police officer who spoke to this publication.
Eswatini Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati had not responded to our questions at the time of compiling this report.
