Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg invites public to contribute views in drafting National Budget,says Government not broke, recently received R2.9billion from SACU

MBABANE:Neal Rijikernberg,the Minister of Finance has invited members of the public to contribute views in drafting the national budget.

Addressing the media during a press conference on Monday, the Minister said there was need to accommodate other equally important activities such as the induction of the new Members of Parliament(MPs) and Cabinet Ministers. He further highlighted the need to ensure proper planning and allocating adequate resources to the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Public Service.

“The three(3)PBC ministries, working together with the Ministry of Tinkhundla are, however, working on a programme and corresponding budget to ensure that this exercise is conducted at a time to be later in 2024 to inform the preparation of the budget for the financial year 2025/2026”, said the Finance Minister.

Members of the public were urged to email their views on the national budget to info@pbceswatini.net.

On another note, the Finance Minister further denied that, Government was facing a financial crisis as reported by the Times of eSwatini, he said the country recently received R2.9billion from the South African Customs Union(SACU) and working towards raising R4billion from the Johannesburg Stock Exchange(JSE).
