MBOMBELA:Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of eSwatini main, largest and influential political party, the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has,on behalf of the organization,labelled the United States(US) sanctions against CUBA as economic terrorism.

Addressing the Africa-CUBA Conference held here in Mbombela on Monday, the PUDEMO President said,the U.S. sanctioned CUBA merely for choosing a different economic and political development path.

“The people of CUBA have endured over 60 years of an illegal economic and trade embargo by the United States of America (USA).It is PUDEMO’s view that we need to call this imperialist aggression for what it is comrades-ECONOMIC TERRORISM.The United States have sought to employ economic, political,and cultural weapons against the people of CUBA for merely choosing a different economic and political development path.International financial institutions are being used to frustrate investments in the Cuban economy. This is totally unacceptable.PUDEMO salutes the Cuban people for humanizing us, through selfless internationalism. We know this to be true,because as PUDEMO our own late Deputy President,Dr Gabriel Mkhumane was trained by the Cubans to be a medical doctor.As we pledge this unwavering solidarity to the Cuban revolution, we also extend our firm solidarity to the people of Palestine, Western Sahara, Venezuela, and other countries suffering

from imperial,neo-colonial, and capitalist exploitation”, said the PUDEMO President.

On another note, the CUBA-Africa Conference was also attended by Velaphi Mamba, the PUDEMO Treasurer General, the two PUDEMO also met Solly Mapaila, the General Secretary of the South African Communist Party(SACP).
