Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo whose contract of employment expires on the 4th April 2024 is desperate to have his contract renewed,he doesn’t want to retire and go home.
Unfortunately, his desperation has resulted to him taking decisions to fight the independent media and/or this publication that criticizes the State, let’s see if he will win.
Our stories are normally amplified by the international media, we are eagerly waiting to see if Alpheous Nxumalo will not respond.
Whether he responds through the State owned radio, Eswatini TV, Channel S, Times of eSwatini, Observer or the international media on anything published here, that would mean he is responding and breaking Government position.
In terms of journalism rules, media houses are expected to quote where the information was sourced and we will monitor all editors and journalists who will assist Government Spokesperson Alpheous Mfana Nxumalo to respond to our stories in a manner that violates journalism principles.
It should be noted that if the Government Spokesperson has opted to close his mouth, he must not respond anywhere about any article published here.
Unfortunately, this is not possible, we will soon hear him speaking to the State owned radio and other media houses responding to articles published by the Swaziland News.
But as journalists working for this internationally recognized news platform,we will send questionnaires to all public officials, responding is a choice but the stories will be published.
The foundation of our publication is investigative journalism, we gather facts and evidence before seeking a comment or clarification, any public official who will refuse to comment or clarify issues will be depriving himself/herself an opportunity to defend his reputation and that is not our problem.
We will continue writing critical articles, at least now the Government position is known and the readers will understand that public officials were contacted by some refused to comment.
But in conclusion, Government Spokesperson must understand that, deserving individuals within the Tinkhundla system are already eyeing his position as he is about to retire, he must put an extra effort if he doesn’t want to go home.

Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo(c) is about to retire.
