ICT Minister Savannah Maziya says new Digital Studio for the Deaf Community in line with King’s Sibaya call to empower citizens through access to information.

MBABANE:Savannah Maziya, the Minister of Information, Communication and Technology(ICT) says, the newly launched Digital Studio for the Deaf Community is in line with the King’s Sibaya call to enrich and empower citizens through access to information.

Speaking on Thursday during the launch of the Studio in an event that was attended by Deputy Prime Minister(DPM)Thulisile Dladla, the Information Minister said, the project also seeks to promote content relevance and inclusivity.

We are bridging the digital divide by promoting access to information content relevance and inclusivity. I believe this studio will fulfill its intended purpose of enriching and empowering the lives of our citizens, particularly those in the deaf community, aligning with His Majesty the King’s recent call at Sibaya,” said the ICT Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.

On another note, Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla said, her Office “remain committed to disability inclusion” across all sectors. 

“We believe that disability inclusion is vital for upholding human rights, fostering social cohesion, driving economic growth, promoting innovation, ensuring health and well-being, fulfilling obligations and advancing social justice,” she said.
