MBABANE: Nonhlanhla Dlamini, the Executive Director of the Eswatini Action Group Against Abuse(SWAGAA) has, thanked King Mswati for speaking against Gender Based Violence(GBV) in his speech from the Throne(GBV) when officially opening Parliament on Friday afternoon.
“I’m quite happy for the King to speak on GBV the way he did and I'm hoping that the budget speech will align with the speech from the Throne. Besides GBV this year's speech was the best.It was very comprehensive and touched upon all key areas such as corruption, youth unemployment, Health, tourism ,agriculture, roads and of course GBV and the tone was perfect”, said the SWAGAA Director when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Saturday.
On another note, the King said he was noting the decline in GBV cases and urged emaSwati to join hands until there’s no single case.
“At the end-of-the-year national prayer service, I called on all emaSwati to join hands in putting an end to Gender-Based Violence (GBV). We note the signs of decline to this practice and urge emaSwati to continue along this path until there is not a single case.I repeat this call today and emphasise that we must remove this dark shadow of violence that is hovering over our society”, said the King.
