Government Spokesperson, Alpheous Nxumalo decided to violate his own ‘rule’ on Friday and responded to NewsRoom Afrika on an interview I had with the South African TV station.
Alpheous Nxumalo had issued a statement banning all public officials from responding or commenting on Swaziland News thinking that,the decision will stop this publication from publishing stories of public interest.
Well, I am fully aware that, Nxumalo was hoping that by the 19th January 2024,I would have long been apprehended by the security officers the Tinkhundla regime bribed in South Africa and that by this time, he would be controlling the narrative telling the world about a ‘terrorist who is behind bars’.
Unfortunately, their plan backfired prematurely, Nxumalo is not experienced when it comes to handling intelligence information by the 5th January, I was already aware that, the regime was working or “has bribed” some South African security officers.
Even the South African apartheid regime was doing the same when hunting human rights defenders hiding in other countries
Fortunately,South Africa is now a democratic country governed through the rule of law hence the South African security officers working with or getting paid by King Mswati’s cruel regime to hunt human rights defenders,will one day,face the law.
As a journalist, who writes for more than five(5) newspapers and contribute for close to ten(10) radio and TV stations around the world, I’m not afraid of any false narrative that Government Spokesperson might wish to push,I am here to deal with that.
But I will make sure that,the regime and its agents does not gain access to my body and apprehend me.
Nxumalo must know that others like the late Senior Deputy Police Commissioner Sam Mthembu,Deputy Police Commissioner Richard Mngometulu and others had vowed to apprehend ‘Zwemart’, unfortunately that did not happen.
Alpheous Nxumalo will expire like others but the truth with regards to the oppression in this country will always triumph and be told.
I will not use international platforms to attack Nxumalo personally because the issues affecting emaSwati are more important than Alpheous, I will use international platforms to tell the sad story about the oppression of eSwatini citizens.
In his interview with NewsRoom Afrika,I noticed that Alpheous Nxumalo is ignorant with regards to the principles of transparency and accountability and obligation by the State to account.
Nxumalo created trouble for himself and his faction in Cabinet by documenting a refusal to comment and subscribe to accountability.
Therefore, he would always run like headless chicken whenever he sees my interviews on international news platforms trying to do damage control,this is a problem he created for himself and the regime.
I am waiting to see how a Government that documented hostility against the media will challenge journalists of the same media.
