MBABANE:Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube, the convicted eSwatini pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) appeared in court for mitigation on Tuesday with South African Senior Advocate Myron Dewrance.
The MPs were arrested for demanding democracy inside Parliament after an order allegedly issued by King Mswati,an absolute Monarch and were subsequently convicted on politically motivated terrorism charges.
The MPs who are facing up to twenty(20)years in prison are expected to mitigate before Judge Mumcy Dlamini before sentencing.
Eswatini is ruled by Mswati as an absolute Monarch,human rights defenders are arrested or killed for demanding democracy.
Human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko who previously represented the convicted MPs,was assassinated allegedly by Mswati’s mercenaries,he was the Chairperson of the pro-democracy MultiStakeholder Forum(MSF).
