LOBAMBA:Benedict Xaba,the Clerk to Parliament has released an urgent announcement,informing the public and Members of Parliament(MPs) that,the Budget Speech that was supposed to be delivered by Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg on Friday has been postponed to Monday.
“Following consultations with the Honorable Speaker, May I take this opportunity to notify Honorable Members that the 2024 Budget Speech that was supposed to be delivered tomorrow, Friday February 23rd has been postponed to next week Monday February 26th starting at 10:00am.However, Honorable Members are still expected to come for a Sitting tomorrow at 10:00am”,reads the notice in part released on Thursday.
Efforts to seek a comment from the Clerk to Parliament proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Finance Minister Neal Rijikernberg is highly expected to deliver the Budget Speech next week Monday.
