MBABANE: Thabo Dlamini, the State prosecutor has urged captured Judge Mumcy Dlamini to impose a harsh sentence on convicted pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube.
This is contained in the Heads of Arguments filed at the High Court on Wednesday.
“In the premises, it is respectfully submitted that whatever sentences this Honourable Court imposes, should indeed properly reflect the outrage of society in eSwatini to the mayhem, disruption, disaster(financial and otherwise), and loss of life caused by the actions of the Accused”, reads the Heads of Arguments in part.
The pro-democracy MPs were arrested and subsequently convicted on terrorism charges merely for demanding democracy, the order to arrest the MPs was allegedly issued by King Mswati, an absolute Monarch.
