MBABANE: The Communist Party of Swaziland(CPS) founded on the 9th April 2011, celebrated thirteen(13)years on Tuesday.

In a public statement sent to this Swaziland News on Tuesday evening, the CPS said since it’s establishment, it committed itself in joining the struggle forces in Swaziland,to end the murderous destruction of the people by the monarchic autocracy and Tinkhundla capitalism whose orientation “is to exploit the people and resources” of the country for the enrichment of the minority ruling class.  

“The CPS further committed to invigorate the struggle for freedom and democracy in Swaziland through mass protests and present a socialist perspective to struggling people as the ideal solution to the present political and economic crisis in our country clearly exposed in the social destruction and systematic extinguishing of our population by the autocracy.The CPS seeks for a complete end of the autocracy and its replacement with a Democratic Republic established through pervasive democracy to end all forms of oppression and exploitation. Nothing good will come to the people without them, the best to the people will come when they have full political rights and control of the state.The 2021 uprising remains a turning point in the history of our country. The CPS played an important role in this landmark achievement of our people by forcing the regime to a permanent defensive position. Today, tinkhudla regime’s offensive against the people is justified as defense of the dictatorship against the people resisting oppression.The consciousness of the people has increased, what is critical is to master the methods of struggle”, reads the statement in part.

The CPS said, the call for the unbanning of political parties and organisatios, the freedom of the press and media, the right to free trade union activity, the unconditional release of political prisoners and detainees, and the unconditional return of exiles; are the basic campaign areas that unite the oppressed people of Swaziland including, the cornerstone of mass mobilization and the resistance of the people against oppression and exploitation aggravated by imperialist interests.

“The regime has mobilized its external allies to stop the campaign for democracy in Swaziland.Imperialist and right-wing forces have adhered to the call by the autocracy to reinforce. Mercenary forces have joined in defense of the autocracy to establish a hybrid reactionary military force in defense of the unpopular, anti-people and hated regime”, said the CPS through the public statement.
