MANZINI: SwaziPharm Director Kareem Ashraff was allegedly at the Manzini Clinic on Monday, nurses and doctors had to run like headless chickens as the powerful and politically connected businessman demands service.
The powerful businessman was there to check a close relative,he appeared to be very frustrated as one of the health workers “explains that, the health institution received some equipment late”.
Efforts to seek a comment from Ashraff proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Kareem Ashraff is known for bullying and demonstrating power, when he arrived at the Clinic, he allegedly shouted at the health workers and made his presence felt,demanding to be given attention and good service.
The businessman who is using private hospitals, stands accused of looting over R1billion, resulting to the shortage of drugs in public hospitals.
Eswatini has about 70% of the population living below the poverty line and a majority of the citizens are struggling to access quality health care or afford private hospitals.
