MBABANE: The United Nations(UN) Security Council is highly expected to vote on whether to grant Palestine full membership or not, Aljazeera has reported.
Ziad Abu Amr, the UN Special representative of the Observer State of Palestine, told the UN Security Council ahead of the vote on Thursday that
a United Nations(UN) resolution granting Palestine full membership at the international body would be an “important pillar in achieving peace in the Middle East.
“We are still longing to practice our right to self-determination, to live in freedom, security and peace in an independent state similar to other countries around the world,” Abu Amr said on Thursday, adding that Palestinians “made and continue to make great sacrifices to achieve this goal”.
