MBABANE: “Prime Minister Russell Dlamini embarrassed the King by attending the May Day,Nkulunkulu angavuma yini kutsi kuvumbuke Sathane atsi ufuna kukhuluma and address him with tingelozi?”.
These were the sentiments of a former Advisor to King Mswati when reacting to the reports suggesting that, Prime Minister Russell Dlamini had to flee after workers stopped him from addressing the May Workers Day celebration on Wednesday, the unelected PM fled after the environment became hostile and a threat to his security.
The former King’s Advisor said, a Prime Minister represents the King and therefore, Dlamini exposed the King to harassment.
“Prime Minister yiNdvuna yeNkhosi mane ngulena leNkhulu kungako abitwa ngekutsi nguNdvunaNkhulu, yiNdvuna lena.If you attack an Indvuna whether it’s the King’s or Chief’s Indvuna, you are actually attacking the person who appointed the Indvuna. So it was the King who was assaulted with stones at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground not Russell. The Workers Day is like a birthday for the workers and, in your birthday event, you decide who must speak.I saw you wrote that the Prime Minister was invited to the Workers Day celebration, no one invited him but, he initiated the invite himself with an intention to prove a point that he can face workers. Utsite utawuya yena lapha bangamane bamshaye. As loyalists of Tinkhundla we are still asking ourselves why he went there. Can the EFF allow the ANC to address its gathering?. Can anyone within the progressives address the King’s birthday?. Russell provoked the workers”, said the former King’s Advisor who preferred not to be named, he was speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
Eswatini Prime Minister(PM) Russell Mmiso dejectedly left the Prince of Wales Sports Ground here in the capital city-Mbabane on Wednesday, after being stopped by protesting angry workers from addressing the annual Workers Day Celebration.
