MBABANE:Wandile Dludlu, the Deputy President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has been heavily criticized behind the scenes by some leaders of political parties under the Political Parties Assembly(PPA) for calling Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini “sifanyana, sigegedlana”.
Dludlu who was representing the PPA, a coalition of political parties during the May Workers Day, at the Prince of Wales Stadium on Wednesday, came hard on Prime Minister Russell Dlamini, King Mswati and the Tinkhundla system of Governance, he labelled the PM “sifanyana, sigegedlana”.
But this Swaziland News has gathered that some leaders of political parties did not take kindly to the PUDEMO Deputy President’s hard-hitting statement and as result, a meeting was urgently held where it was resolved that a statement that reflects the true position of the PPA be issued.
The statement sent to this Swaziland News on Saturday evening, according to the leadership of the coalition organization, replaces what was said by Dludlu on behalf of the PPA on Wednesday.
“The statement we have just sent you replaces Dludlu’s sentiments because some political parties within the PPA were not happy with his statement. But you can get an official comment from Nkosingiphile Seyama of the Swazis First Democratic Front(SFDF) who is the Acting PPA Head of Secretariat”, said the source within the PPA.
The PUDEMO Deputy President labeled the PM as small boy who is advancing interests of the royal ensemble.
“Lomfanyana lesigegedlana leniloku nisibita ngaNdvunaNkhulu, there’s no Prime Minister in this country, that small boy sitting there is advancing the interests of the royal ensemble”, said the PUDEMO Deputy President.
Efforts to reach Wandile Dludlu, the PUDEMO Deputy President proved unsuccessful as his phone rang unanswered.
But in the PPA statement sent to this publication, the coalition of political parties “states clearly that, the organization distances itself” from Dludlu’s statement.
"The Political Parties Assembly wishes to place it on the record that the speech delivered on behalf of the PPA was not approved by the PPA Executive Committee, and accordingly it doesn't reflect nor represent the views of the Assembly. We disassociate ourselves from it as it represented the individual views of the speaker”, reads the PPA statement in part, released by Nkosingiphile Seyama, the PPA Acting Head of Secretariat.
Prime Minister Russell Dlamini who attended the May Workers Day celebration at the Prince of Wales Sports Ground on Wednesday had to flee for safety after the environment became hostile and a threat to his security.
