EZULWINI:King Mswati officially launched the construction of a new Headquarters for the Central Bank of Eswatini(CBE) that will cost R1billion.
Addressing guests during the 50th Anniversary since the establishment of the Central Bank, the King then urged investors to consider investing in the financial sector.
“We believe that there are many investment opportunities in our financial and banking sectors. We wish to invite those who want to invest in this area to take advantage of the good financial environment that prevails in the Kingdom”, said the King as quoted by Government online platforms.
On another note,Central Bank Governor Phil Mnisi told the King that, the banking system in the country remains sound with strong liquidity buffers.
“I wish to report that the banking system remains sound, with strong liquidity buffers and is adequately capitalised.The sector continued to be profitable, demonstrating financial sustainability.Non-bank financial institutions have shown significant growth in the 10 years following the last commemoration.The value of NBFIs assets has grown from levels of about E54.9 billion in 2014 to E99.1 billion observed in 2023, which shows that the country's financial services sector is robust,” said the Governor.
