MBABANE:Phazamisa Mhlanga, the Sigangeni Indvuna says, Joseph Mkebhe Dlamini has been evicted for grabbing a home belonging to orphans.
Responding to this Swaziland News on Wednesday morning, the Sigangeni Indvuna said, he was surprised to read from this publication where Mkebhe lied that, he was evicted after being labeled a witch(umtsakatsi).
“Firstly, let me thank you for contacting me to get the facts of what happened, Mkebhe was not evicted for being a witch. What happened is; there are orphans who came to report him to uMphakatsi that, he grabbed their mother’s home, that home does not belong to him. The orphans were suffering with no home or shelter and we followed all legal processes before evicting him.Even the Attorney General(AG) was consulted for a legal opinion, as uMphakatsi we cannot allow a man to grab a home from orphans. Now that he has been evicted, the orphans will occupy the home after the death of their mother, that home now belongs to the orphans”, said the Indvuna.
This publication is in possession of documents including a letter from the then Attorney General(AG) who asked the police to assist in evicting Dlamini and in the letter, the AG mentioned that Sigangeni traditional authorities were seeking a legal opinion about the man who grabbed a home from orphans.
The documents suggest that, all legal processes were followed before the eviction.
“Unayo indzawo yakhe, ekhaya kubo nguse eKupheleni, akahambe aye khona ashiye likhaya letintsandzane”, said the Indvuna when interviewed by editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Wednesday morning.
