GEGE:Prince Lonkhokhela,the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy says it was wrong to demolish Gege Mbondzela homes without a court order.
The statements of the Minister responsible for farms, that he delivered when visiting the Mbondzela residents on Monday now contradicts the previous sentiments of the same Government delivered through Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo who stated categorically that, Government was in full support of the demolitions.
The same Government, through its Spokesperson went on to warn citizens against occupying what he described as private farms adding that,the police will deal with those who will protest against the demolitions.
“It was wrong to demolish homes without a court,the demolition must stop as we deliberate on this matter”, said Natural Resources Minister Prince Lonkhokhela.
The Prince and other Ministers rushed to Gege-Mbondzela to defuse the escalating tension after the death of Vukani Mkhwanazi, a security guard who was allegedly abducted and killed by the angry residents.
The tension escalated after Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo, acting on behalf behalf of the Government,took the side of Taiwan capitalists and expressed full support for the demolitions.
