MBABANE:”Nawucabanga wena uma Russell angaya ku-dialogue angakhona yini ngoba usheshe ahlutfuke,nakukhulunywa ushaya ematafula afune kulalelwe yena yedvwa, angamkhona nje Julius Malema Russell nawungababeka bobabili utsi abakhulume politics?.

These were the sentiments of a former King’s Advisor who told this Swaziland News on Saturday that, the political developments in South Africa that might result to other political parties including the Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) forming part of the Executive arm of Government, will surely influence a political dialogue in eSwatini.

But the ANC is currently negotiating with the EFF and the Democratic Alliance(DA)among other political parties, to be part of the Government of National Unity(GNU).

Both leaders of the EFF and DA previously expressed concerns about the eSwatini dictatorship, the tiny Kingdom is ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch and political parties are banned from participating in elections or contesting power. 

Even though the EFF rejected the offer to be part of the GNU if the Democratic Alliance was included, it remains to be seen if the ANC will eventually convince the EFF to be part of the proposed Government of National Unity(GNU).

DA leader John Steenhuisen whose political party might be part of the GNU recently told the media that, he wondered why South Africa was involved in resolving conflicts in other countries when there’s dictatorship in the neighboring country, he described what “is happening in eSwatini as nonsense” that should be addressed as a matter of urgency.

“The political dialogue is coming whether we like it or not and as loyalists of the Tinkhundla system, we are worried with the conduct of the Prime Minister, he won’t stand the pressure that will come with the political changes in South Africa.The EFF has a policy suggesting that,they want democracy in eSwatini and that the King must be declared a war criminal by SADC, all this will need a strong eSwatini Government to manage the situation.But as the Tinkhundla system, are we safe with Russell?. I was thinking that by this time, the King could have long established a strong Government that will stand the political pressure that might come with the changes in the South African Government”, said the former King’s Advisor who preferred to remain anonymous.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa confirmed when addressing the Nation this week confirmed that, the African National Congress(ANC) will work with other political parties that include the EFF and Democratic Alliance(DA) among others.
