MBABANE: King Mswati has ordered the Eswatini Revenue Authority(SRA) to seize multi-million Estates of deceased persons owing tax.
As a result Cabinet is now facilitating the Tax Administration Bill to be endorsed by Parliament, the legislation will give powers to the SRA to seize properties, pensions, savings, provident fund payments and monies within various banks to recover monies owed by the deceased to the revenue authority.
On Saturday, the State owned ESwatini TV, reported about the matter saying the law was facilitated by government through the Ministry or Finance.
“The proposed law will power the SRA to force employers and Estate Executors to deduct owed taxes” the State owned TV reported.
The Bill once it becomes law means children of deceased persons might be forced into poverty should their parents die owing tax that amounts to the whole eState as the State will grab everything.
It has been widely reported that taxes in eSwatini are used to fund King Mswati’s lavish lifestyle, he owns two private jets worth over E1billion, Rolls Royce worth E200million, poverties and multi-billion shares and asserts through Tibiyo TakaNgwane. The King is counted among the richest Monarchies in the world in a country where about 70% of the population lives below the poverty line.
