The Public Service Pension Fund(PSPF) Board of Directors must take action against Investments Director Musa Hlatjwako who allegedly assaulted his wife, the matter is pending before the Magistrate Court.
It is surprising to note that, some public figures are abusing women hoping to be protected by the captured media and the courts, Gender Based Violence(GBV) must be eradicated in this country and we don’t expect such matters to be heard in the Magistrates Chambers to protect the alleged perpetrators.
I am still searching for the contact details of the Magistrate so he can explain why he decided to hear the matter in Chambers while the Pension Fund Investment Director continues to assault his wife Winile Hlatjwako knowing that he enjoys the protection of the media and the courts.
It’s disappointing to learn that,in this country we have men who think they can assault women with impunity just because they have money and work for giant corporate entities.
It would be unfortunate if the Pension Fund does not have anti-Gender Based Violence(GBV) or gender policy that seeks to protect the rights of women and bind the conduct of employees,Hlatjwako deserves to be subjected to a disciplinary hearing and dismissed if found guilty.
Public figures must learn to respect the rights of women, a few weeks ago members of the public were condemning a female police officer who was assaulting his boyfriend.
Now it’s the Pension Fund Investment Director assaulting his wife,Gender Based Violence(GBV) or violence against men and women must be discouraged and we expect the courts, the police, the media and all stakeholders to play a significant role in this regard by amplifying the voices of women and human rights organizations.
