MBABANE:Prime Minister(PM) Russell Mmiso Dlamini has allegedly established a team of police officers to hunt Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
Information leaked to the editor of this publication by State security officers suggests that,before taking the recent trip to Belarus,PM Russell Mmiso Dlamini held a meeting with a team of police officers,he urged them to work secretly when tracing the editor without reporting to the National Commissioner or Deputy National Commissioners as some of them are informers of the editor.
“Ngisiteni,uma ngingamtfola BakaNgwane ngitabe ngibetfulele ingwe esihlahleni.NeNkhosi ingangetsemba kakhulu(meaning: Please assist me, if I can get him, I would have saved the country’s authorities and the King will gain more trust in me),” the Prime Minister allegedly said.
The Prime Minister further told the police officers that he was ready to offer any financial support to the team of security officers adding that even if it “calls for paying from his own pocket”, he declined to comment when reached by this publication.
During the secret meeting,the Prime Minister then made allegations against senior police officers accusing them of being informers of the editor,he said the reason junior police officers struggle to apprehend the editor was that,the senior officers informs him everytime when security officers cross the boarder.
Reacting to the latest developments, editor Zweli Martin Dlamini urged the Prime Minister to focus on developing the country including addressing the health crisis amid shortage of drugs.
“The fact that I was able to get information with regards to what was discussed in that secret meeting should enlighten the Prime Minister so he can understand that,the job I’m doing is driven by the people.The police must continue leaking information to expose this alleged corrupt Prime Minister”, said the editor.
