MBABANE:Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube,the convicted eSwatini pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) have been collectively sentenced to sixty-eight(68) years in prison merely for demanding democratic reforms.

The MPs were sentenced by royal linked Judge Mumcy Dlamini on Monday afternoon,senior members of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) including Deputy President Wandile Dludlu, National Organizing Secretary Siboniso Mkhabela and PUDEMO League President Sakhile ‘Awviva’ Nxumalo were present in court during the sentencing.

Eswatini is ruled by Mswati as an absolute Monarchy,political parties are banned from participating in elections while human rights defenders,political activists and pro-democracy MPs are arrested and convicted,tortured or even killed for demanding democracy.

On another note,the Judge said the MPs who convicted on politically motivated terrorism charges,”deserve a death sentence”.

MP Bacede Mabuza was sentenced to forty(40) years while Mthandeni Dube was sentenced to twenty(28) years.
