MBABANE:King Mswati clearly communicated a cruelty message to all Members of Parliament(MPs) who might challenge his Tinkhundla undemocratic regime by convicting MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube.
As a result, Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) Nomalungelo ‘LaZwide’ Simelane decided to keep quiet when approached by this publication for comment.
The Siphofaneni MP who was recently attacked by the police and soldiers was at the High Court on Monday,during the sentencing and this Swaziland News was interviewing political activists and pro-democracy MPs,the Siphofaneni MP who was visibly shaken avoided to comment.
Pro-democracy MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube were sentenced to life imprisonment by Judge Mumcy Dlamini on politically motivated terrorism charges.
On another note,despite the brutality by Mswati’s regime against MPs who demanded democracy, the Siphofaneni MP’s husband Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane urged citizens to participate in the Tinkhundla undemocratic elections,vote in numbers and elect MPs who will demand democracy in Parliament.
On another note,Wandile Dludlu, the Deputy President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) said,the convicted MPs will be liberated by democracy.
“The only thing that will liberate Bacede and Mthandeni is democracy”, said the PUDEMO Deputy President.
MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube were arrested and subsequently convicted for demanding democracy, the order to arrest the two was allegedly issued by King Mswati,an absolute Monarch.
