MBABANE:Wandile Dludlu,the Deputy President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has urged emaSwati not to entirely put their trust on the United States(US) and other countries for their liberation but,their freedom will only come through their collective efforts.

Speaking to this Swaziland News when asked to analyze why the United States “is always not decisive against eSwatini” despite the ongoing human rights violations,the PUDEMO Deputy President said,almost all countries are operating like the US when it comes to their foreign policies.

“EmaSwati must not put their entire trust on the United States and other countries for their liberation but freedom will come through their own collective efforts. The world is now operating through the capitalism system,they don’t care about human rights violations as long as their interests are protected. So under the Tinkhundla system, the interests of the US are protected, the reason they sometimes pretend as if they are with the pro-democracy movement is that, they want to maintain their interests in the event of a regime-change. This is not about America, almost all countries are operating like this,they are about their interests. On paper, they will tell you about respect for human rights but practically there would be no action at all as long as the regime violating human rights is protecting their interests”, said the PUDEMO Deputy President.

Dludlu was speaking to this publication after the Embassy of the United States released a statement, condemning the sentencing of pro-democracy Members of Parliament(MPs) Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube.

“Thulani Maseko was trained by the US on human rights but the very same police officers who are killing civilians, some of them were trained by the United States. So that’s how the US operates,” he said.
