MANZINI:Lutfo Dlamini,the former Minister of Labour and Social Security and current Chairman of Philani Maswati Charity Organization whose Patron is Queen Ntombi Tfwala, has applauded former Botswana President Lieutenant General Ian Khama for gracing the Embiveni Biggest Braai.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Monday,the Philani Maswati Chairman said,as a charity organization,they were honored to have Khama among important guests who attended the event whose objective was to raise funds for the needy elderly.
Queen Ntombi Tfwala,the Philani Maswati Patron was represented by Thulisile Dladla, the Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) during the event.
“Khama got to know that the Khoisan tribe is in the country,he drove to meet and host them for lunch at Emtini Lodge where they were staying.He personally thanked them for agreeing to travel by road over 980 KM to Eswatini to assist Philani Charity. He then bought a ticket and came to personally support Her Majesty’s charity and his people.He spent more than 3 hours at the event and mingled with the people. A down to earth leader”,said the former Labour Minister.
Responding to this Swaziland News on Sunday afternoon,when asked to share his experience after attending the Biggest Braai,former Botswana President Ian Khama said he was honored to be part of the Queen Mother’s event.
“Good afternoon.I wish to commend the noble efforts to raise funds for the needy by the Queen mother’s charity.I feel very attached to this initiative because that is what I like doing for the needy as well in Botswana.The event was well attended and vibrant and we enjoyed ourselves.I was also happy that a traditional dance group from Botswana were invited to perform on the occasion”, said the former Botswana President.
The Embiveni Biggest Braai was held at the Mavuso Trade Centre on Saturday and was attended by thousand of emaSwati.
