CAPETOWN:South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has advised Julius Malema, the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) to play the “ball” not the man.
Replying to the ongoing debates in Parliament on Monday, the South African President noted that,EFF leader Julius Malema always attack him in his personal capacity instead of playing the political ball and contribute to national development.
“It is important Honorable Malema that as we debate,we should play the ball and not the man.Now you spent a considerable amount of time playing me,the man, what is important in building this country is to play the ball of development”, said the South African President.
Ramaphosa said,Malema spent a lot of time talking about how the National Union of Mine Workers(NUM) was formed while accusing him of being a sellout, he urged the EFF leader to read some books how the union was formed particularly because he was not there during it’s formation.
EFF leader Julius Malema had accused President Cyril Ramaphosa who was part of the NUM founding members,a sellout.
But the South African President urged him to read books and consult others like Gwede Mantashe who we present during the formation of the NUM and thereafter,he will make an informed conclusion if what he did to transform the lives of mine workers through the NUM, amounts to being a sellout.
