MBABANE:Jabu Shiba,the Secretary General of the Swaziland Union of Financial Institutions and Allied Workers(SUFIAW) says,Standard Bank Eswatini is not willing to negotiate and as a result,the strike will continue this week until further notice.
The workers are demanding salary increase from their employer however,Standard Bank Chief Executive Mvuselelo Fakudze subsequently ran to court, seeking an order directing the workers not to protest within the premises of the bank.
“The bank is not willing to negotiate for now,instead,they went to court seeking an order directing the workers not to protest within it’s premises.But the court ordered that we must negotiate even the venue for the protest and report back on Wednesday”, said the SUFIAW Secretary General when speaking to this Swaziland News on Tuesday afternoon.
On another note, Standard Bank Eswatini released a statement assuring clients that services won’t be disrupted by the ongoing strike.
