UNITED NATIONS(UN) SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS:Natural Resources Minister Prince Lonkhokhela says eSwatini working towards achieving access to clean water by 2030.

MBABANE:Prince Lonkhokhela, the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy says, eSwatini is working towards achieving the United Nations(UN) Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) by ensuring that all citizens have access to clean water.

The Natural Resources and Energy Minister was speaking through Principal Secretary(PS) Lindiwe Mbingo on Wednesday during a meeting with Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) stakeholders, the meeting was meant to discuss the vital importance of water, sanitation, and hygiene for achieving universal access by 2030. 

Government online platforms reported that, the Minister said Cabinet instructed him to develop a comprehensive plan, in consultation with stakeholders, outlining concrete measures and timelines for achieving universal access to clean water by 2030. 

“This plan will be based on current data on water access and will include details on the projects and initiatives to be undertaken each year until 2030”, reads the online report.

It has been reported that,the meeting was a significant step in the collective effort towards realizing the vision of universal access to clean water, with all stakeholders working together to create a clear and actionable strategy for achieving this critical goal.
