UGANDA:Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Pholile Dlamini-Shakantu has, on behalf of the Kingdom of Eswatini signed a Memorandum of Agreement(MoU) with the Republic of Uganda on Agriculture and a Joint Cooperation Agreement for the establishment of a Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation.
The signing of the agreements comes after King Mswati held a bilateral meeting with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday, Government online platforms reported.
It has been reported that, according to the agreement on agriculture, the two(2) countries will now create favourable conditions for the development of economic and technological cooperation in the field of agriculture and rural development.
It will be managed through a Joint Technical Committee.It will allow the exchange of experts, technicians and researchers and the exchange of programmes, for the improvement of animal and plant production and soil fertility, storage and processing, among others.The general framework establishing a Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation seeks to identify possible areas for cooperation in the economic, scientific, technical, environmental, educational and cultural fields”, reads the online report in part.
