MBABANE:Prime Minister(PM) Russell Mmiso Dlamini has clarified the issue of the alleged missing R210million as per the reports of the Auditor General(AG) Timothy Matsebula.

Responding to this Swaziland News on Wednesday through Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli, the Prime Minister dismissed the reports of the Auditor General(AG) saying there was never “any missing R210million” but instead, these were mere audit queries “that are being addressed” by the Parliament Public Accounts Committee(PAC) and the National Disaster Management Agency(NDMA).

The PM subsequently accused this journalist of alleging that, R210million went missing without evidence.

Worth-noting, the evidence suggesting that,Russell Mmiso Dlamini, the then National Disaster Management Agency(NDMA) Chief Executive Officer(CEO) failed to account for the said public funds, is the report of the Auditor General(AG), the PM was summoned by the PAC before being appointed and he failed to explain the unaccounted public funds.

But on Wednesday, after this publication sent a questionnaire demanding answers regarding the alleged missing and/or unaccounted public funds, the Prime Minister clarified that, it was an audit query that is being addressed.

“The matter is at Parliament handled by the Public Accounts Committee(PAC) and the issue therein is not about missing funds but procedures that are being addressed by NDMA as they have been doing so in the past, buttressed by conducting 8 independent audits. The Minister of Finance also provided clarity on the matter during the Editors Forum meeting”, said the Acting Government Spokesperson who was responding on behalf of the Prime Minister.
