MBABANE: Vumile Dlamini,the Royal Science and Technology Park(RSTP) Chief Executive Officer(CEO) who was removed by Information Minister Savannah Maziya amid the over R100million alleged fraud and corruption scandal within the State owned entity,allegedly disappeared with office keys.
This comes after the Information, Communication and Technology(ICT) Minister appointed Dr Andile Methula as the Acting Chief Executive Officer(CEO) and senior Cabinet sources alleged that Methula was frustrated by Dlamini, an influential member of the royal family who disappeared with the office keys.
“Yes, I heard that the office was locked and the Act CEO is using his old office.I\'m not sure now. You can call him he is an open guy”, said a senior Cabinet source when asked to confirm the matter on Thursday afternoon.
Vumile Dlamini, the removed RSTP Chief Executive Officer(CEO declined to comment when asked to comment about the locking of the office.
But Dr Andile Methula,the Acting Royal Science and Technology Park CEO first laughed when asked to clarify if the keys have been surrendered by Vumile Dlamini, he then confirmed that the keys were now available.
“Setikhona tikhiya Nkhosi(meaning: the keys are now available)”, said the Acting CEO when responding to this Swaziland News on Thursday evening.
Vumile Dlamini, the Royal Science and Technology Park(RSTP) Chief Executive Officer(CEO) was removed by Information Minister Savannah Maziya amid the over R100million alleged fraud and corruption scandal within the State owned company, his efforts to lobby the Liqoqo-King’s Advisory Council to intimidate the Minister not to perform her duties proved unsuccessful.
ICT Minister Savannah Maziya had pledged to clean all public companies within her Ministry, remove alleged corrupt individuals and ensure that,the parastatals are financially stable to deliver services to the people.
This publication gathered State documents suggesting that, Vumile Dlamini was investigated by the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) for alleged corruption, he allegedly used various suppliers including Cypher Technology(Pty) Ltd to loot millions within the State owned company.
