LOBAMBA:Marwick Khumalo, the long-serving Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament(MP) successfully moved a motion directing Deputy Prime Minister(DPM) Thulisile Dladla to distribute free food to all poor emaSwati amid the poverty crisis in the country.
The motion was moved in Parliament-Lobamba on Friday and supported by the entire House of Assembly, the MP suggested food that include maize meal, beans and cooking oil to be distributed to the needy.
“Mr Speaker langaphandle sive sidla emacembe, I’m telling you. The Deputy Minister kwayena, itolo bekangitjela lesinye story lesibuhlungu, utsi watsi uvula libhodo, wakhandza nje umhlolo. I have been to another home to visit an elderly who is about one hundred(100) years, ngakhandza ingoloyi leyomile”, said the Lobamba Lomdzala MP.
Eswatini has about 70% of the population living below the poverty line,this include the elderly, working class with low salaries and the unemployed youth.
