HARARE:King Mswati told the Southern African Development Community(SADC) that, eSwatini has a democratic system that is supported by a majority of emaSwati and as a result, successful elections were held.
This is contained in the King’s presentation before the removal of eSwatini from the Troika agenda after Mswati successfully convinced Heads of State that, peace has been restored in the tiny Kingdom, the King previously made the presentation before the SADC Summit held in Zimbabwe and it was adopted by the regional body.
The removal of eSwatini from the Troika agenda means, SADC will no-longer call Extraordinary Meetings to discuss eSwatini political crisis at least, until new developments emerge.
Thousands of emaSwati including members of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) participated in the recent elections to elect Members of Parliament(MPs),the King later thanked them for demonstrating support for the current Tinkhundla system and their country.
The successful Tinkhundla elections were held under the slogan “Sakha Kwetfu” meaning; “we are building our own country”.
