MBABANE:Velaphi Mamba, the Treasurer General of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has warned King Mswati that, he might be dethroned if he refuses to participate in a political dialogue.
This comes after the King refused to subject himself to an all inclusive dialogue as recommended by the Southern African Development Community(SADC) and subsequently used State weapons to silence dissenting views.
Speaking on Sunday during the Visionary Perspective Eswatini Program hosted by this Swaziland News weekly on Sunday, the human rights defender urged the King to participate in a political dialogue.
“The people who are plotting to dethrone you if you are refusing to dialogue are ahead of you. They are ahead of your army, the police and correctional services in terms of intelligence. So it’s important to consider a political dialogue. This country gained independence from the British rule without a drop of blood but through dialogue. Even now, we are calling for a political dialogue”, said the PUDEMO Treasurer General.
