MBABANE:Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini says,he will provide international trips to Mbabane East Member of Parliament(MP) so he can be on his side.
This is contained in electronic recordings sourced from the State Intelligence Unit,the evidence cannot be released in full to protect the identity of sources as doing so might give the Prime Minister an idea who he was speaking to.
In some of the full audios and when quoted in context ,the PM allegedly said, Mtfongwaneni MP Nathie Hlophe “is already enjoying international trips and getting money because he is on his side”, the international trips that the Prime Minister use to control Parliament,are funded with public funds amid shortage of drugs in public hospitals.
The PM said he “has identified a number of MPs” who like money and that,he will win them by providing international trips so that they cannot question but side with him in Parliament,he then named MP Welcome Dlamini as one of them.
The Head of Government allegedly said, he was not worried about those who oppose him in Cabinet as some will never qualify to be Prime Ministers because they were not born from the ruling Dlamini clan, he said they must just accept that for now, he “is the Prime Minister” in charge of Government.
“Welcome ngitamtsatsa abe ngakimi ngoba u-weak(meaning: I will convert Welcome to be on my side because he is weak”, said the Prime Minister.
The PM declined to comment to a questionnaire sent through Deputy Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli regarding this matter.
Reached for comments on Saturday morning, Mbabane East MP urged this journalist to release the recording and thereafter, he will comment after listening.
On another note, in other recordings released by this Swaziland News a few days ago,the PM was exposed having said he doesn’t care about emaSwati and that Editors Forum Chairman Mbongeni Mbingo was his spy.
“Anginendzaba nemuntfu mine,as a leader I know you just have to do what you believe is right.You can’t keep on pleasing people.Lona nje Mbongeni umoshwe kutsi ufuna kujabulisa ema-editors”,said the Prime Minister in the electronic recordings.
The PM who was speaking to an individual in Cabinet known to this publication further mentioned that, he expressed disappointment to editor Mbongeni Mbingo for failing to be ‘brave’ during the Breakfast Meeting and defend him in front of all the editors, as a person who privately works with him.
“I told him that;yes,I saw the press statement but I was disappointed because you failed to protect me as a friend I work withprivately.Ungijabhisile mnganami yebo ngiyati kutsi siyasebentisana, ungijabhisile lana,awukayibambi kahle, you want to please people at this age?.You can’t do that.But I thanked him for the press statement I saw two(2) pages, page two(2), page three(3)”, said the Prime Minister.
