MBABANE: Sifiso ‘Smallz’ Mahlangu, the alleged State agent who allegedly ‘confessed’ to have poisoned Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) has escaped to eSwatini amid calls for his arrest in the neighboring South Africa.

It has been disclosed that, Mahlangu who was allegedly working with the eSwatini regime in an attempt to kill the PUDEMO leader, will receive State protection but sources told this Swaziland News that, the police might pretend to arrest him just to manage public opinion.

“He was wanted here for allegedly being a member of the Solidarity Forces, you can connect the dots how he can then run to hide in eSwatini after what he did to Makhanya. Inkinga kutsi kwayena bayam-planela after using him in the assassination attempt.Lokutsi bamentise le-video bentela kutsi noma kungentekani kuye, kutsiwe akusiso State, nangu Mahlangu watikhulumela watsi nguye, singenaphi State noma iNkhosi?”, said the source very close to the matter.

Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo has been vigorously denying that, the State might be involved in the attempt to kill Makhanya.

But PUDEMO Deputy President Wandile Dludlu accused the Government Spokesperson of allegedly publishing a notice on behalf of the State, in an official Government online platform, promising a two hundred thousand Rands(R200,000.00) reward to anyone who might kill or abduct the senior PUDEMO leader.

Nxumalo declined to respond to our questionnaire on the subject matter, amid international criticism and accusations directed to King Mswati as one of those behind the assassination attempt.

PUDEMO President Mlungisi Makhanya, the eSwatini main opposition leader, previously survived an assassination attempt after the eSwatini regime bombed his home at Malindza with military weapons during the recent political unrest.

The State agents who bombed Mlungisi Makhanya’s home had allegedly received intelligence information suggesting that, he was inside the house with his wife and children.

But the PUDEMO leader is currently critical but stable in a South African hospital, Intensive Care Unit(ICU) after being poisoned in Pretoria in the early hours on Tuesday.

Mahlangu accused the PUDEMO leader of misappropriating donor funds hence his decision to poison him.

“He was misappropriating donor funds while we starve”, he said.

Worth-noting, the State with the support of others within the Mass Democratic Movement(MDM) has been pushing a narrative suggesting that, comrades are killing each other, fighting over donor funds.

This narrative is being driven through various online platforms some, who claim to be promoting democracy yet, they were allegedly infiltrated by the regime to dilute the public opinion amid killing of human rights defenders allegedly, by the eSwatini undemocratic regime.

But on or around the 10th June 2010, PUDEMO leader Alex LaNgwenya’s house at Bhunya was bombed with State military weapons almost in a similar strategy or tactics used against Mlungisi Makhanya’s home at Malindza.

The police had received intelligence information suggesting that, PUDEMO leaders were about to hold a meeting in that house.

But the State later claimed, the bomb that exploded within Alex LaNgwenya’s house belonged to PUDEMO denying any involvement in the assassination attempt, more PUDEMO leaders have been killed allegedly, by King Mswati’s regime and this, include human rights lawyer Thulani Maseko.
