SHISELWENI:King Mswati has urged the business community to ensure the growth of businesses within the Small and Medium Enterprise(SME), Government online platforms reported on Saturday.
The King was speaking during the Shiselweni Business Dinner on Friday night.
“As we recognise the growth of the big companies, let us ensure that the development of the Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is closely aligned to this growth.The economy relies heavily on agriculture and industrialisation, and greater efforts are needed to incorporate more SMEs into the mainstream economy.This can be achieved through public and private sector initiatives, fostering a symbiotic relationship between larger corporations and MSMEs.The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) and SEDCO are implementing an SMME linkage programme for outsourcing, skills transfer, and partnership development. Businesses should align with this policy direction to leverage collective efforts from both sectors.The Government and parastarals should also support private sector efforts, recognising opportunities in trading blocs,” said the King.
