MBABANE:Eugene Dube,an actor at Isitha has been implicated in the alleged poisoning of Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) in that he lied immediately after the poisoning of the political activist saying,Makhanya was allegedly poisoned by his girlfriend.
It is alleged that, Dube did so to try and cover-up the allegations suggesting that,Makhanya was poisoned by the Tinkhundla undemocratic regime using a close comrade.
On Saturday, Swaziland News editor spoke to two(2) Isitha producing agents enquiring about Dube and one of the agents said, even though she was not sure how Dube was recruited, she was sure that, the production team doesn’t want to be involved in such sensitive political scandals.
“We sometimes ask emaSwati to play certain roles here and go back without producing the necessary documentation because, it’s a short role. Some come today and go back the following morning. So if we have someone who might drag our project to such political scandals, other emaSwati will be deprived the opportunities and our project will be tainted. I am not sure if the Directors will be happy. There’s a certain way to behave if you are part of such projects”, said one of the agent Producers.
Another agent who once recruited emaSwati said, he was not involved in recruiting Eugene Dube and only saw him on the screens.
“I recruited some but not Dube, will check how he came here and update you”, said another agent when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini on Saturday.
Dube has been leading a vigorous campaign on social media attacking the PUDEMO President who critical in hospital while defending the Tinkhundla system after the poisoning.
But after one suspect Sifiso Mahlangu emerged confirming that he was the one who poisoned the PUDEMO leader, the Isitha actor did not publish an apology or retracted his earlier false statement accusing the PUDEMO President of being poisoned by a girlfriend.
Efforts to reach Dube for a comment proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Makhanya has since been discharged from hospital but the assassination attempt is under investigation by the South African police.
It is alleged that, the Tinkhundla regime successfully infiltrated the Mass Democratic Movement(MDM) with a strategy to mislead the world that, Makhanya was poisoned by his girlfriend when in fact, it was an assassination.
