NKHABA: Thulisile Dladla, the Deputy Prime Minister has handed over a new house to Ntombikayise Nxumalo(54) of Nkhaba.
Nxumalo is an unemployed mother of nine(9) and she lives with her children and grandchildren, Government online platforms reported.
“They all sleep in an old stick and mud house and the boys sleep in the kitchen.Her plight was reported to the Deputy Prime Minister in June this year by Nkhaba Member of Parliament during the Thanksgiving Ceremony. This family is assisted by neighbours who provide food and other necessities including Senator Siphelele Mkhonta”, reads the online report.
It has been reported that,the Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the efforts by the National Disaster Management Agency, Buildit, Inkhundla Council and Senator Mkhonta for making sure that the family has a decent structure, well-ventilated pit latrine toilet and a water tank.
