JOHANNESBURG: The Press Council of South Africa, the Campaign for Free Expression(CFC) and other partners including the South African Editors Forum(SANEF) hosted the Media Freedom Festival, an event that seeks to capacitate journalists on democracy reporting among others.
Other partners who supported the event include the German Embassy, the South African Government, the Association of Independent Publishers, Media Monitoring Africa and the Support Public Broadcasting(SOS) among others.
Members of the Press Council including Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini were invited to participate in the Media Freedom Festival, the event was held in Johannesburg on Tuesday and will continue until Friday.
Issues discussed include support for independent journalists to report freely about issues of public interest, including promoting democracy and human rights.
